Asheville Blue Ridge Rose Society

Meeting Minutes
January 14, 2024

Today’s meeting at the American Red Cross classroom was called to order by President Christine Gum at 2:10pm. A quorum was present.

Attending today- Martha Bader, Ray and Karen Bowen, Cloud Conrad, Avital Greenberg, Joan Glacken, Christine Gum, Doug Hauschild, Marjorie Iles, Pat Limeri, René Moore, Joe Platko, Mark Ruder, Donna Sapp, John Smith, Lynn and Dianne Sneath, Jim Tucker, Nicole Vandenheuvel, Chrys Wallen, Keven White, Mary Ann Willingham, Mary Wood

Minutes from the November meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report- René Moore reported a balance of $4129.30.

Martha Bader reported that she met with Paul Franklin and Mary Ann Willingham to discuss ways to have meetings appeal to all members. Having an “open forum” added to the monthly agenda to discuss roses would help address interests of new and “seasoned” members.

Jim Wilson and Laurie Frarey have resigned from our Society.

Today’s presentation on our Society’s website was given by Marjorie Iles. She walked us through the current website which has not had an update in
5 years. The membership agreed by show of hands that it needs attention and updating but not development of a new website.
Marjorie will continue to look into options, Chrys Wallen and Dianne
Sneath will help.
